Good Morning Hills View!
Greetings from my own living room this week! Stuttgart, Arkansas, was a nice place to visit last weekend, but it is SO nice to be home. I hope everyone is planning on, or already enjoying their Labor Day Weekend! A last hurrah for some!
Well, school bells were ringing last week. Everyone is back into a schedule - car pooling - practice - homework! Make sure you're still finding time to "incline your ear" to God's Word. Don't let the pace of September steal your quiet time with our Lord! It is so easy to do.
This Wednesday our Youth Life Groups start up with a First Connect Night (They all get together as one group and invite their friends). It will be at the Stagebarn Elementary Gym from 6:30 - 8 pm. Pizza and drink will be provided this first week! Please send your 6th-12th graders!
Speaking of Home work - here is some for you! In preparation for tomorrow's message please read 1 Chronicles 29:1-9. That will help give you the context of the beautiful prayer that follows from King David and the scripture for our message. We close out The Renew Button series tomorrow with the over arching attribute of God's Sovereignty. The Sermon is titled: Our Sovereign God! and the scripture is 1 Chronicles 29:10-20. I am really looking forward to being with you all from now, through the new year - no more missed Sundays for me! It will be great to get you all back as well after a eventful summer!
Last week I asked for prayer for Lucielle Biers. She is back at the Long term care facility, doing great. And I asked for prayer for the Steve Ashley family. He did pass away peacefully and his family, though grieving, are ok. Please continue to pray for Lucielle's recovery and for Steve's family.
Another prayer request; Keep praying for our church - Hills View - that we are the church that God wants us to be, doing and serving in the places and ways that He wants to be doing. That we don't lose our zeal to glorify God - to be One in Christ committed to Praying, Teaching and Reaching! Thank you in advance for your prayers, and thank you for being a part of Hills View.
Have a great weekend and I'll see you on Sunday!
