How We Started

In April of 2006, a small group of families organized a Evangelical Free Church plant for the Piedmont, Summerset, and Black Hawk area. The first official meeting was held in June of that same year, with Bruce Redmond delivering the first message.

Soon, there was a group of 20 adults and 22 children, planning what this new church would look like. With God's hand leading each step of the way, the name Hills View Evangelical Free Church was chosen, the five Core Values were agreed to as the guiding principles for the church, and the Vision Statement was defined. Hills View is One in Christ, Committed to Praying, Teaching, and Reaching!

As more people started to attend, the church quickly outgrew the capacity of its meeting places until we moved into our current land and building in 2016.

Hills View has been blessed to have great messages by faithful teachers every Sunday. One of our earliest teachers was Ron McLaughlin, who was called by God to become Hills View's full time Pastor in July, 2007.

In January of 2017, our second Pastor, Mitch Hildebrant, was installed to attend to the church's growing needs.

In March 2018, Emily Baumiller, became the Administrative Assistant to coordinate work flow and take on many of the office duties.  January of 2019, She took her role as Youth and Children’s Director and Amy Rempel took on the administrative duties.

In March of 2020, Wes Roth took over the role of our second Pastor, Mitch Hildebrant.

Hailey Johnson became our very first Youth Director in August of 2020.

We remain grateful to God for His great provision and trust Him to grow His Church!
